SARDINIA

Sea lovers will find the most beautiful landscape nature can offer in Sardinia, with enchanting inlets, shallow bays inside rocks shaped by the wind, romantic coves, uncontaminated sea, and crystal clear water, anything you need for a holiday full of relax, health and fun.

The areas of San Teodoro, Santa Teresa di Gallura, Poltu Quatu, Baia Sardinia and Cala Liberotto, close to Orosei, deserve more than a visit, as well as the breathtaking sceneries of the Maddalena Archipelago, with its unparalleled beaches of pink sand.

From Alghero you can discover the natural reserve of the National Park of Asinara, landing in the most inspiring spots on the island, such as Cala Reale and Fornelli, among the colonies of white donkeys that live there in the wild.

Costa Smeralda, the destination of the international jet-set, is our suggestion to anyone wanting to enjoy night life, dancing and water sports. To mountain lovers Sardinia offers the picturesque scenery of the Gennargentu, with its paths through wonderful gorges and unforgettable settings.

For those who prefer to combine history, mysticism and curiosity, a visit to the mysterious tombs of the giants, and the domus de janas (ancient burial grounds hewn in the rock strewn throughout the region) is a must, as well as a visit to the nuraghe.

The journey continues through Cagliari, city of salt, with numerous colonies of flamingos settled in the lagoon and the old salt flats beside the city.

Cagliari is a city with a rich historical heritage, including the 2nd century amphitheatre, hewn in the rock of the hill surrounding the city, and the National Archaeological Museum, to know more about the Nuraghe culture.

The Nuraghe complex of Su Nuraxi at Barumini, the largest in Sardinia, is the backdrop for a "Nuraghic" show: the typical stone towers symbolising Sardinia, whose origins are still unknown, as well as their constructors, one of the most mysterious civilisations in history.

Having landed in Sardinia in 2000 B.C., the "Nuraghic" population built these strange fortifications, unique in the world, that are scattered throughout the island.
